Vores historie
Warm Nordic er en hjertesag og en passion. For mig og mange andre er den skandinaviske stil og levemåde fuld af varme. Den er alt andet end ’Cool Nordic’, som den ofte kaldes. Nok kan det være koldt udenfor, men stemningen indenfor er varm. Stilen er ikke overdekoreret, men med et varmt, ægte udtryk og måske endda ild i pejsen. Det er den stil, der har gjort dansk hygge berømt i hele verden.
Jeg har gennem mange år samlet på skandinavisk design og blandt andet møbleret Kähler restauranterne med mine auktionsfund fra 50’erne og 60’erne. Flere gæster har gennem tiden spurgt ind til de klassiske stole, borde og lamper, som ikke længere var i produktion. Og så begyndte en idé at tage form. Jeg rakte ud til efterkommerne til de oprindelige arkitekter og designere – og oplevede stor opbakning fra familierne til at give de smukke design nyt liv i Warm Nordic.
Når nu andre bemærkede skønheden og kvaliteten af de gamle klassikere, kunne jeg ikke bære tanken om, at ikoniske stole af Hans Olsen og Knud Færch eller internationalt efterspurgte lamper af Svend Aage Holm-Sørensen alene skulle leve deres liv på internationale auktioner. Nu er de – sammen med en række andre klassikere – vakt til live i Warm Nordic.
De gamle mestre er samtidigt forenet med de bedste nutidige designere, så Warm Nordic tilbyder både en Classic Collection og en Contemporary Collection. De to kollektioner tilsammen tydeliggør kvaliteten i skandinavisk design og dens uafhængighed af tid og generationer. Med grundlæggelsen af Warm Nordic ønsker jeg at give designelskere, med en forkærlighed for klassisk skandinavisk interiør, nye valgmuligheder af høj kvalitet.
Jeg håber, at mange vil finde glæde i et helstøbt, kurateret univers, som udfolder den varme og uhøjtidelige stemning, der netop karakteriserer skandinavisk design. Vi er ikke kølige. Vi er Warm Nordic.
