The Opal Arch pendant was designed in the 1950s by the Danish designer, Svend Aage Holm-Sørensen. Opal glass has a special lighting quality. For Opal Arch the internationally renowned lighting designer went for three layers of opal glass to create a particularly warm glow. The pendant’s illuminating glass core is encased in a sculptural metal crown, and the luxurious look is further underscored by the solid brass top. A single pendant in a kitchen, a bedroom or cosy corner in a living room will provide gorgeous indirect lighting. Just as elegant is a cluster of three Opal Arch pendants hovering together over a dining table.
Choose from several classic colours in Warm Nordic’s exclusive silky matt quality paint, which guarantees an extraordinarily beautiful and durable surface.
The Opal pendants were originally designed in the 1950s by the Danish designer, Svend Aage Holm-Sørensen, who was a major pioneer in the world of Nordic lighting design and who was very fond of working with opal glass. Opal Arch is part of a range of Opal pendants in uncompromising design and choice of materials.
What characterises Opal is the encounter between beautiful coloured metal and three layers of glass, the third layer of which is sandblasted in order to create a special tranquillity with no reflection. The pendants capture the essence of an era, in which the grand master of Danish lighting design, Svend Aage Holm-Sørensen, together with architects and designers from all over the world, invested huge energy and passion in the art of lighting and created unique lighting designs. The Opal Arch pendant has been specially selected for the Warm Nordic range as a tribute to iconic Nordic design that invests modern décor with invaluable diversity and depth.
