Arne Hovmand-Olsen had his sights set on the world both before and after he became one of Denmark's renowned furniture designers in the 50s. The farmer's son was an esthetician by nature, apprenticed as a cabinetmaker and later trained as a furniture designer to pursue his passion for visual design and furniture design. In 1944, Arne Hovmand-Olsen opened his own design studio, where he combined classic craftsmanship details with innovative and modern design. He was not only a pioneer in architecture, but also in the export of designer furniture to meet the great interest from abroad. In dialogue with Arne Hovmand-Olsen's family, Warm Nordic takes care of the design legacy of the great furniture designer and will continuously launch more classics in the House of Arne Hovmand-Olsen.
Arne Hovmand-Olsen's (1919-1989) light and elegant furniture design in Scandinavian style was inspired by the desire of the time for a modern interior. The furniture caused a great resonance in both Denmark and abroad and appeals with their quality and elegance to a contemporary audience as well.
CLASSICS
Lean Back is an elegant reclining lounge chair in 50's design. Despite the lightness and an almost floating expression, the lounge chair is incredibly comfortable to sit in and invites you to long stays with conversations around the coffee table or immersion in the world of books and magazines. The solid wood armrest is so elegantly designed that it almost looks like leather with its soft sway.
Simple and timeless design table created in the 50s. Evermore is a classic beauty that brings the craftsmanship and aesthetics of Danish modernism into today's dining room and conversation kitchen. The design with the typical lines of the time is characteristic of Arne Hovmand-Olsen, who lets the beautiful wood play the main role. Evermore is beautiful together with the Noble Chair by the same designer, but also dresses other designer chairs with classic lines.
