Spanish-Argentinian Sebastián Alberdi (b. 1978) grew up in Buenos Aires, but moved to Barcelona at the age of 20. Today, he not only has a design studio in his own name, but also learns from him as a professor, just as he is part of the award-winning international design collective outofstock.
A fundamental curiosity about the world and the interaction between object and human drives Sebastián Alberdi. The industrial designer with Spanish and Argentinian roots continuously challenges materials, technology and craftsmanship in his design studio in Barcelona. To push the limits of what is possible and to refine the individual design in relation to what it contributes to the environment in terms of feeling, functionality and visual being. Sebastián Alberdi strives for aesthetic simplicity and precision, yet a note of temperament can often be traced in his designs, which makes it sophisticated and alive.
MASQUERADE
Masquerade the mirrors are inspired by the two-sided mask and a world of geometric surprises. Behind the design is Sebastián Alberdi, who in the Masquerade series works with geometric shapes and elements on several visual levels. From the shaping of the individual mirror to partial engraving with straight lines and patterns, transforming Masquerade from a one-dimensional mirror surface to a living, three-dimensional experience.
