Mr. Olsen
Mr. Olsen
Classic as well as modern design sofa created in the 50s by the renowned Danish architect Hans Olsen. With its special elegance, Mr. Olsen as well in the men's room as for a feminine sofa nook, in the home office and in the summer house. The sofa is both slim and organic in its expression and contributes an unusual lightness compared to other design classics of the period. At the same time, the design has been brought into a modern context with a simple touch: Where the sofa originally had three cushions, the updated variant has two cushions, which can be obtained with down filling on top of both the back and seat cushions. This not only makes the cushions more comfortable and malleable, but also gives Mr. Olsen the soft, airier expression that characterizes a contemporary sofa - and which beautifully complements the original soft shapes of the sofa's armrests and the tapered round legs. The sofa is available in both a classic leather version and fully upholstered in beautiful textiles, including a velor version for a sophisticated look. Choose from various exclusive furniture fabrics from, among others, Kvadrat in several classic colors from the Warm Nordic universe and frames in oiled oak, walnut oiled oak or smoked oak of the highest quality. The sofa is also available in an exclusive anniversary edition on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Hans Olsen's birth. The anniversary edition has a frame in FSC-certified wood and sustainable textile from Kvadrat – Re-wool or Merit by Maraham – which excels in both environmental friendliness, sensuality and quality.
DESIGNER
Hans Olsen
Hans Olsen (1919-1992) left his own mark on 1950s Danish modernism with his well-rounded furniture with personality. Several design classics from the hand of the Danish architect are today collectors' icons and are sold for high bids at international auctions. Here, Hans Olsen illustrates how the iconic Fried Egg chair with its distinctive design invites you to throw your legs nonchalantly over the side of the chair.
